Travis Hanks, Architect AIBC | Principal, Co-founder
Travis's experience ranges from designing objects to working on large infrastructural projects, including the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York. He holds a BArch from Virginia Tech and an SMArchs degree from MIT. He has served as guest critic at several institutions and has lectured on his work in the U.S. and in Brazil, and has been Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia since 2012. Travis is licensed in New York, Virginia, and British Columbia.
Shirley Shen, Architect Washington State | Director, Co-founder
Prior to co-founding Haeccity Studio Shirley worked at Peter Gluck & Partners (New York) and Henriquez Partners Architects (Vancouver). Her experience ranges from high-end residential to urban scaled mixed-use projects. At MIT she co-founded the Office for Unsolicited Architecture, and her work has been exhibited at the Canadian Centre for Architecture and published in Volume Magazine. She holds an MArch from MIT and a BScArch from McGill.
John Roddick, Architect AIBC | Associate
John joined Haeccity Studio as an Associate after working in Vancouver for 10 years at Bruce Carscadden Architect and Henriquez Partners Architects. While earning his MArch from UBC he studied architecture and urban planning in Japan and Cuba. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, and is a licensed Architect in British Columbia.
Jorge Roman | Designer
Jorge studied architecture in Spain and Italy before receiving his Masters of Architecture from CEU University of Madrid. Prior to joining Haeccity Studio in 2014, he participated in exchange programs in the United States and China, and worked on small-scale projects in Madrid for over two years.
